New Building Development Update

newimage.pdf.JPG

After several months of negotiations, MedicX Property, Nottinghamshire PCT and the partners of Highcroft Surgery are pleased to announce that they the have agreed terms for the development of the new health centre in Arnold.

The building will be a two storey 1,500m2 building occupied at first floor by the Highcroft medical practice and ground floor by the PCT. The building will be constructed to modern standards including two lifts and be fully accessible by people with a disability.

MedicX are also pleased to announce that it has appointed J Tomlinson, a Nottingham based contractor as its principal contractor to deliver the building. The physical works will commence on site on the 3rd September 2012 and the building will take 60 weeks to be fully complete.

Due to the site restrictions the building is being built in two phases; the first being on the site of the existing Health Centre car park and then the existing Health Centre will be demolished and phase two constructed.

In developing this project, MedicX has also had the support of Gedling Borough Council and has agreed to lease the existing public car park at the rear of the Health Centre for the duration of the project. There will be limited public car parking during construction of the building and this will be limited to disabled parking using the shop mobility accommodation.  Whilst the disruption of the public car parking is not ideal we trust that the Arnold residents will understand that it is necessary to bring forward this much needed development.
