MOBILE PHONE NUMBERS

It is becoming more and more important that the practice maintains an accurate record of mobile phone numbers for patients. New technology is reliant upon us having this information and will enable us to reduce the number of letters that we send out to patients. Hospitals are also keen to ensure that contact numbers are accurate to assist prompt appointment booking.

We now have a system whereby we can send automated reminders by text to patients about pre-booked appointments. We are hopeful that this will reduce the number of patients who fail to attend their appointments and also reduce the manual administrative work that we carry out significantly. We can also let you know promptly of any unavoidable changes to your appointment more easily.  Let us know your up to date mobile phone number here

Appointments

baby_pointingEach GP has an hour of pre-bookable appointments every morning and half an hour of pre-bookable appointments every evening. These appointments can be booked up to four months in advance.

The remaining appointments for each GP become available 48 hours (or two working days) in advance.

The only exception to this happening is when a GP is the on call doctor. This occurs on a rota basis and on these occasions their appointments are only available for same-day booking. This ensures there are always appointments available for patients who need to see a doctor urgently.

The telephone lines open at 08:00 from Monday to Friday and can be busy first thing. It is advisable for patients wishing to book either a same day or pre-bookable appointment to telephone as soon as they can after the lines open.

Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant appointments are available up to four months in advance for a variety of clinics.

For the convenience of patients, GP appointments are also available to book on-line. A password can be obtained from reception (proof of identity required) Please click on the relevant icon on this website for access.
